Finishing up a REPU Engine Swap
I finally found a REPU that is in fairly good shape... the 2x previous owner blew the engine, so the last owner began a swap of a 83 12a into the beast. He got most everything done except:
1st: Drive shaft doesn't fit into tranny... different yoke (?)
I think I can get the driveshaft modified by drivetrain.com but I need to know the output spline size, seal size, etc... for the 83 tranny.
2nd: there is no clutch pedal assemble, or master cyl. Anyone think one from an 83 would fit? or maybe one from a 70's Ford Courier?

Daaaaaaaaang!
I'm sorry to hear this, even in your email bro. Get the stock 13B 4port back in it! Not only is it the largest displacement of all the "B" motors but it belongs in it. "A" motors in trucks, suck (persoanl preference here), you'll need to modify the cross-member and tranny had to be swapped as well. Get a '76 Cosmo or wagon (best stock built) tranny and with only a mount modification you will be good to go, it will not move the stick position (auto-slider) and you won't have to cut up your floor. There should be a pre-cut hole for the clutch pedal that just needs to be punched out and the master cylinder will bolt right up.

I thought all 13b motors were 1308cc. How do you figure the early 4-port has more displacement?
But I agreee, don't waste the time and effort swaping in the 12a.
