Finally its back together...

Whilst in the middle of relocating I also had to get my truck back to the paint shop to finish the change from tow mirrors to the oem spot mirror. I picked up the truck thursday and started putting it back together. I installed new glass run channels since I had changed the door glass frames. This time I used yellow weatherstrip adhesive instead of the black stuff, after getting everything in place I put a couple of door glasses in the frame to help push it all into place and tied it together at the open end of the frame. Came back to my old place on saturday, finished getting the doors back together and took a load to my new home. This is first time I`ve had the truck on the road since august, it ran like a champ, doing 80+ with the bed loaded (we were trying to beat the traffic from an A`s game). I was trying to put some pics in the photo gallery showing the almost all new front end, but I don`t have the necessary skills to do so. If anybody would like to see some pics I`d be glad to email them to you. Everything but the grille is NOS or restored, the grille was one of the last new ones purchased back in 93.

I for one, certainly would like some pics.....

and not just some profile shots...I would also like some of all those NOS parts put together with the truck. Some engine bays, interiors, etc...You know, some shots to show off the detail.

If you would like, I'll post them for you in the gallery.

Great job Craig, and of course...Congratulations as well.

Congrat's!

...Of course, it'd be too cool to see! (Whether posted here, elsewhere, or in email...) I hear ya on not having the tech. down... all this stuff takes time, otherwise I'd have it more together already myself.
I need a 'real' garage...and some time...and more $$$$...

After a couple more loads

I`ll spend some time detailing the truck and take some more pics under the hood, interior etc. Charles send me an email and I`ll shoot some pics your way. If any of you who already have some pics would like to post them on this thread or in the gallery please do so. Thanks, Craig.

I suppose I could host them for a spell......

until my storage space is full. It looks real nice Craig. Is that "The Emblem" I see on the grill.

If these pics don't motivate the rest of us, I don't know what will.

It looks sweet!

Thanks Ken, yes thats

"THE EMBLEM" the R/E emblem is also NOS. I know that all of you think I`m nuts to pay $400 for an emblem but it didn`t seem crazy to me. A friend dropped by the other day and showed me his new nissan frontier that he paid 14k for, one of those only ONE at this price, I have more than that in my REPU. The inteior was new back in 97, seats rebuilt from the frame up, new oem headliner, sun visors, rear view mirror, ash tray, recovered dash pad, custom carpet, inner door handles, dome lamp assy. Front valance is NOS, also the center bumper. tailgate & handles, rear reflectors, side marker assy`s, front turn signal assy`s. When the new engine from hayes was installed (with new rotor housings) back in 2000 it also got a new engine wiring harness, factory water pump assy including the housing, carb rebuilt with factory parts, NOS A/C valve. NOS factory exhaust system complete fom thermo reactor to the exhaust tip. The radiator has been re-cored and was rodded out when the motor was installed. The original owner had it serviced at the dealership I used to work for from 79-95, then I bought it and I have the dealership records. There`s a whole lot more NOS parts on the truck but I think you are starting to get the gist of it. The truck is almost new at 193,000 miles. I want you guys to know that this is all your fault, when I found this website last year and realised that there were others like me I found the motivation to finish what was started back in 97. Thank you all, Craig.

Started back in 95

Had a complete paint job and new interior in 97. The most recent work involved changing the tow mirrors back to the original spot mirror. Started in august, layed off from work in september the truck has been sitting in the garage ever since. The only thing left to do on the truck is the front suspension, needs balljoints and control arm bushings. After that is done I would like to enter it in some local car shows and watch the piston guys scratch their heads in bewilderment.
