I thought about it for a long time....

I measured, taped it off in different ways checked out kits(didn't like them),so I did it my way.I considered it for almost a year. The roof on my truck was caved in,had been knocked out and was full of bondo,(still looked like crap). The piece behind the seat when finished will lead down into the console, like a roadster.Still not done but,it's okay till I redo the trim.
Head turner now for sure.

Nicely done, that's only the third REPU I've seen with the top gone. I like your treatment where the cab meets the bed, much nicer than I've seen before, a closeup would be nice. What have you done to the interior, also.

Like I said I did it my way.The frt of the roof gets cut straight across in the kits.Ugly...I made the side go from the top of the door to the top of the bed.My friends when I would talk to them said don't do it,my wife was very skeptical at first even though she wanted it that way.She didn't think I could do it.She should know better. One of my buddies came over and looked at it with me,I showed him what I had in mind,he saw how bad the roof was and he said I had nothing to lose.I will admit when we first got it off,I thought to myself, what the hell have I done...It took a little bit to get over the shock.I'm happy with it.Thanks for the compliments.

I really like the interior, retro but modern looking, it absolutly looks like something Mazda might put out if they were making them today, you should have taken up automotive styling dpassmore, SUPER.

I'm considering a bar like mustang gt convertibles use.I may make 2 identical bars and pair them up so it looks better,I'm not sure yet.Good seatbelts are in the works now.

Looks Great

I'd like to see some more detailed pictures. I am considering doing the same to my Courier that I'm building on a REPU frame. The Courier cab is really the only thing that will be courier, everything else, bed, fenders, hood, frame, engine, etc, etc will be Mazda. If you have some more detail and don't mind sharing send them to me at crgj@comcast.net. Oh and by the way I'm just 200 miles from you up here in TN. Keep up the great work, even if it is a V8...Charles

It was suggested to me in the past...

...that a rollbar that went through the bed and tied in to the frame would be good for additional chassis rigidity as well, improving handling... not to mention what might be done with more of a 'cage'...

looking good... still a shame it has that v8 in it... but better off than mine with a busted 13B in it:( mines a chop top too, tho i didn't do it, and i still need to chop the top off a courier so i can have a hard top custom made

please ignore that soft top mines got... its not even close to being made for the truck... hell i tossed that thing... i would also love to do what you did with that bumper... i think that looks sharp as all hell... but i can't do anything i wanna do till i get the damn thing on the road again... also how beefy are ur tires? mines running 235/14's up front and 265/15's in back

I agree. I'd rather do a 20B than a V8 in a rotary truck, if I was going to do a major engine swap.

That orange car behind the blue truck looks familiar to me for some reason.
