Who has part numbers for factory brake parts

Looking for a new brake master cylinder and diaphragm for vacuum brake booster. Anyone have factory part numbers?

'Tandem Master Cylinder & Vacuum Power Assist':

1854 43 400 Cylinder, Tandem Master

1708 49 610 Parts Kit, Inner

1854 49 720 (Vacuum Power Assist) Repair Kit

(Pages 142-144 Rotary Pickup Parts Catalogue)

Hope that helps!

thanks klaus, first 2 items come up with inventory of 0. could be a new part number supersceeds it. at least it does not come up nla or not found. but no description of the part (doesn't say what they are in mazda database).

last item comes up part not found. which is too bad cause I really want a vacuum diaphragm. shucks. no A or -00 on the end of the part #?

You might have to...

...get your friendly Mazda Parts Specialist to do a VIN-specific search/order from Japan for you; to my amazement, this was possible for certain items in the past... (!)

Part numbers all as listed/revised in my copy of the Parts Manual, (vintage '73/'74, though...). No other suffixes.

I would've listed a # for *just* the diaphragm, if I had one... unfortunately, only listed as component part in the overhaul kit.

Gotta wonder if the courier version was similar enough/still findable? Or, whatever version could be modded/adapted in as a replacement...?

Perhaps this is yet another opportunity for the 'Brad-tech' aftermarket replacement/upgrade of our dreams...?

anyone out there have a Turbo ][ Rx7?

And can check if the brake booster and master cylinder will bolt up to REPU? I've looked online and they both use a 4 bolt pattern on back of booster, but don't know if they'll line up or interfere with clutch master.

The 1st gen rx7 guys put T][ MC and Booster in their cars, bigger bore on the MC (less pedal travel and you modulate the pedal more with pressure than pedal travel), bigger diaphragm on the booster so you get more vacuum assist.

go to schucks and ask them to look it up in there books not the computer it cost about 120.00 but they price match so you can get it for about 60.00 to 70.00 and make sure it has 7/8 stamped on the side and a samll screw in the bottom it seperates the the two pistons

Brake Stuff

Hello Brad,
Try this place.
http://www.bscparts.com They had a listing for a rebuilt booster for the RX-4, NAPA/AMERICAN AR117-78268 or AMERICAN
17-78268 both for 100.95.
I'm not sure if it's the same booster though or what the difference,if any, would be, but it might be a place to start.

ordered the repu brake master from carparts.com

got the raybestos one for $91. it's 7/8" bore like original REPU. The $86 one was 3/4", did not want to go down in size.

thanks for the lead on bscparts.com ovquick, the brake master for rx4 looks similar, it's mounting looks exactly the same as repu.

i just don't know if rx4 booster bolts to firewall the same, and if the brake pedal hook up is the same. i'd have to see one before ordering unfortunately. :(

does anyone have a 1st or 2nd gen and can measure bolt patterns of booster and give a good shot of where the booster hooks up to the brake pedal? My 1st gen is stored a LONG ways away unfortunately :(

Mike *might* know...

...or be able to take an underhood pic for you; if not, there's another guy we could ask...

Try contacting Mike via his website info; go to www.thesurfonics.com Tell him I sent you in your email, and mention who you are... he doesn't have a REPU to compare to, but he does still have a '74 rx-4 coupe. :)

If not, let me know, and we'll try someone I know who has both rx-4 and REPU still!

carparts.com cancelled the order...

Not in stock anymore.

Searched and searched, very hard to find one with the fluid resivoir at a reasonable price. I want one plug and play, don`t want to swap over plastic resivoir.

Ordered one from rockauto.com. Got a 5% discount too. $90 shipped. We`ll see if they deliver.
