Slight problem

Ran into a slight problem while finishing the design on the less expensive option. May not be able to package all the things together. Will let you guys know.

Hi Billy, any ideaer when the 6 lug kit will be ready? My REPU needs new front rotors....

Maybe since stock rotors are so cheap and easy to install I'll just put stockers on there for now.

Thanks,
Brad

Anything ever happen with this? My REPU needs brakes too and I don't like doing stuff twice.

If it's time to replace then it might as well be time to upgrade!!!

This got hung up...

I ran into packaging issues with the parts. I have been meaning to hop back on the project but have been sidetracked with some other stuff. I will hop back on it soon.

Yea, packaging issues is a designers way of saying there is to much crap to fit in the space allowed. :)

In other words there were clearance issues with stock parts of the system that interfered with the aftermarket parts were were trying to fit in the space.

Well get those pakaging issues sorted out because I'd love to slap some 5-lug hub brakes on my REPU. Preferrably using a FC or FD caliper too!

BTW: I got my sway bar spacers from you guys the other day and they were great. You guys make nice stuff at a fair price, thanks a lot!!!

I Too Am Ready!

For a set of 6 lug. Any word on them, I've got a small hole starting to burn in my pocket.

I'm in no huge rush...

...but it would be darn cool; (6-lug, please!)...and I only need 'em to fit inside a 15" rim at the smallest.

5-lug or 6-lug is fine. If you guys offer it in 6-lug I'll just get the pattern changed at a local place. More important is big brakes!

Seriously though, the 6-lug pattern is the thing that bothers me most about REPU's. Totally unnecessary and the worst wheel selection.

You could always just

...get a Ford or Chevy, instead. Lots and lots of wheel options...

I love what makes the REPU, a REPU.

so has anyone tried to fit up some 4 pot brakes from the s4 rx-7? I happen to have a set and would love to fab up a bracket. my brakes are acting reallly funny. and i'd rather fab something up instead of buying new stock calipers.

The bolt pattern does not make the REPU what it is! With that kind of logic we might as well call them SLPU's for Six Lug Pick Up.

First off, it has a rotary engine under the hood that makes it a one of a kind truck, then it's got the cool box-flared fenders and the battery under the bed. Plus it's just a very cool vintage truck that was very unique for it's era and even more unique today.

Seriously guys, I fail to see why you guys are so hung up on the 6-lug stuff other than you don't want to buy new wheels. Maybe we shouldn't modify our trucks either because then they won't be original either? Hmmm....

BTW: Ford or Chevy??? That was low. ;)

Here is what I'm think of doing for a change in bolt pattern. This was on Nopistons a while ago by Judge Ito.

If you notice the way the brake discs bolt to the hubs it really doesn't matter. I doubt any big brake kit is goig to come with all new hubs anyhow.

Nothin' personal...

...but then again, I don't go for things like wheel 'spacers', either.

I used to have a '66 Dodge model A-100 custom sportsman Van, with the 273 V-8 in it... it had 'reverse' threads on the driver's side, just like our trucks... and I thought that was really cool, too...

If you won't be running your original REPU wheel centers, etc., you can always send 'em to me!
