That's freaky (the evil and everything)! I'm still on the lookout for my truck's nemesis.

yeah i was watching that green one too. I can't beleive it didn't even get one bid at $500...especially with all the people posting that they want REPUs on this and other boards. I was very tempted to get it...

Withdrawn
I was watching it (the green one) and about 30 minutes before the end of the bidding at 2091.?? he pulled it off the block. Don't know why, he had a buy it now of 2800 and it might have gotten to it if he had left it alone.

And then there was the bid history...
...if you checked that out, then you know a bunch of guys were after it! But then again, the seller did invite folks to contact him, and even offered to stop the auction in his description...
So, you think it would've brought $2800 ? It does need a bit of paintwork, not to mention a trans. that works in 5th... But that small mountain of NOS parts! (Not to mention a straight lower air intake/valance...) Too bad it didn't come with different mirrors, though... those are the ones that screw up doors, eventually...

Its no longer on my truck
The brand name is "Six-Pac" It is aluminum skin over wood framework. It is VERY VERY heavy. It has locking rear, internal roof light, opening side windows, it even has a little "sun roof". It was just drilled and bolted to the bed rails. other than a .22 bullet hole and dirt/dinge it is in pretty good condition. It is currently just hanging from the roof of my garage.

Somebody please educate me on REPU mirrors. How many styles were there and what did they look like? How do the above mirrors damage the door? When I got my REPU it had no mirrors, I stuck on some '86 rx7 mirrors but the are loose and bounce around. I either need to re-drill the mounting holes and re-install those mirrors or find something that looks more like stock.

the optional dealer added towing mirrors like on my truck almost always rust around where they are mounted.
here is from brochure with a different kind of towing miror
and if you look at the gallery you can see some other different mirrors, obviously some of those are not original

Mirrors
REPUs came with a small mirror on the drivers door, similar to the RX-4 mirror. All the Jr west coast and other "towing mirrors" were dealer options (aftermarket).

Your REPU looks much happier
without that six-pac, Wankel Dreams! Funky '70's pinstripe job, too! Quite the odd beige paint, tho... like a 1980 VW color. Those mirrors, besides rusting, seem to stress the door funny too, quite often, anyways... something about the lack of support for that style of mounting within the door? Then cracks start to appear...
I've also heard rumors of REPU's with one small round, or small rectangular mirror on the driver's side... but I've never seen one like that. I like the 'factory' towing mirrors, like in the brochure... my blue one had those. Not exactly what you'd call streamlined, tho...
If you're liking the zip of no heavy canopy, W.D., you should try losing the back bumper for a while--that saves you some weight! Then just drop your rear tire psi to about 28, and see how fast it really winds up... of course, you might want a bit wider rubber, too...
But as to the topic: sounds like that green truck has garnered quite a lot of attention...
