Hello

Seems slow today, so I just wanted to say Hi. My name's Mark and I just bought my first REPU off of an ad on this forum. It was the blue 75 for sale by Nytol. Truck's in pretty good shape. Only real rust is located on the drivers floorboard, which I guess came from a leak on the front. I searched the forum, and it seems like there is a common leak that comes from the windshield gasket drying out and exposing a hole in the windshield panel.

The truck's garaged, so I'm not too concerned with the leak for now. Gonna pull the carpet out and take care of the rust in the next week or 2. Any advice on fixing the leak would be appreciated. I read on here that the windshield is still available. I may pull the glass and redo the seal + make sure there is not any other bad stuff happening under there.

I also have been able to find several of the parts she's missing... I have a rear tail assembly, rear marker and front hood trim in the mail. Still looking for a battery box, but I'm not holding my breath though ;-)

I also ordered what weatherstripping I could still get from mazda. Was able to find the window felt/seals and the passanger door seal, Driver's is NLA. Anyone have any ideas on that?

Oh, I live in the DFW area and have several other Mazdas. Been driving/wrenching on RX7s since I was a teenager.

Glad this forum is out here. There's a lot of info, and you guys seem to be a real nice community.

Mark

Welcome to the Forum!

Yeah, I just got back from a trip out of town, so I'm part of the 'quietness' around here of late...

Congrat's on acquiring your REPU!

That leak: Not just at the base of the windshield, but typically also in a spot/spots under the hood, at the top of the firewall 'shelf' area...

Best, K.

Thanks Klaus... Are you talking about the shelf where the fuse box and such are located?

Sitting on level ground my 75 captures water in the hood channel and diverts it down onto the fuse block area. Someone has attempted to seal it and only made it worse. It pools up until it can get through to the interior.
Not a very good part of this trucks design.
I have it parked downhill now so I will see if that is enough. I may have to rip all the sealer out of that channel and start over.
My 74 had the same leak....right down on my feet.

Annoying, isn't it?
