Updating the fuse pannel/box!
So has anybody else tried to improve on the stock glass fuse block? I found a 6 gang atc/ato (blade fuse) box. The stocker on my 74 is about crap. they are always loose eather at the wire or at the fuse so im gonna install a new unit, remove the 34 year old plugs and soilder on new 1's heat shrink them and bingo i should be in a lot better shape. im doing it over a few days... not a lot of daylight left nowadays when i get home from work and dam its cold. I will try and post pics when i get done. Im also thinking about swaping out the main fusable link setup behind the seat with a car stereo kinda setup a fuse block/ power distrubution block.

Fuse box
I have changed mine to an upgraded (blade) fuse box. Not that hard and you might want to up it to a 8 block just for extra/future room for anything you might need or use. They have 8 blocks that have four side by side so room isnt an issue. Actually less room than what the stock one is taking up now.

well if we are getting technical its a fused buss bar. took 4 hours online to fine that out. all the fuse panels i had found had 1 feed in and lots of fused outputs. cant do that. i think its 3 or 4 all time hots and the rest of the 6 are switched. i got a 6 spot weather proof unit and yea its blades also. if it would warm up a bit id go outside and try and finish it up this morning.

all i can say is wow, all the lights seem so much brighter. i guess the stock fuses had really bad conections. i ended up installing 2 6 fuses boxs. i set 1 up as a switched 12 volts and the other as a constant 12 volts. i have 2 spares on the switched and 4 spares on the constant. that should come in handy 1 day

Which fuse box would be ideal for the swap? Out of of vehicle? Mine is starting to act up. Any info would be great.

Hi
I`ve replaced it always( I´ve had 6 REPU`s). Some times its better to use a first gen RX-7 used unit.

Not sure if it would work or not but the 2gen fuse box under the hood might be a good one for behind the set (big fuses and lots of amps).

It really wouldnt, you need to have 2 types. 1 would be setup for switched ing. power and the other is setup for always having power. this is the reason i opted for 2 small fuse blocks.
