depends on which carb is on your truck... hitachi or nikki. napa sells the rebuild kits for the hitachis and they should come w/ an exploded diagram of the carb with a very brief list of instructions.

The Hitachi

...is the one that came on the truck; Nikki's are a retrofit from the 1st-gen rx-7 with a 12A... far as I know.

What is/are the symptom(s)? Might just need cleaned out... though it's always a good idea to have a rebuild kit on hand.

If you just need the carb sheet, I can probably scan and email it; shoot me an email, and let me know.

(You need a header before you need a different carb!)

Klaus emailed me a ton of scanned documentation on rebuilding and troubleshooting the REPU carb. I created an Album in the Photo Gallery so everyone can enjoy them.

Here's a link to them.

Or you can just buy a new 48 Weber IDA...

Thanks for helping me out, Brad!

That's every bit of Hitachi carb. data I had... hopefully it'll be helpful to everyone who didn't already have it, and is trying to keep their's operational.

#48 in the diagram on the first page shows the two little cylindrical mesh filters that I keep reminding folks to check for obstructions. ;)

Carb probs

I rebuilt mine with the carb kit from Baxters. I had the same symptoms as you, and all I think it really needed was a float level adjustment. Look in your sight glasses on the float bowls, you'll need a mirror to see in the back one. The accelerator pump runs directly off of your front float bowl and if its set too low you dont get a good squirt while accelerating.
