Replacing a third gen LSD torsen from repu
I'm wondering anyone having the third gen LSD torsen have to make a repair or replace it yet, I'm hearing whining coming from the pumpkin,so I'm wondering do the torsen gears get replaced ot just better to buy the torsen again and if u do need another torsen what other gears besides the torsen do I replace? Still locks up and all but shavings in oil when I checked. So u know it's soonish.... Thanks guys!!!! And yes I'm a run on sentence pro .

It should not whine. Sounds like the contact pattern of the ring to pinion gear was not setup right. With metal shavings in the oil, you better remove it now.
Hopefully the ring and pinion are still re-usable. May just be the pinion nut was overtightened and the outer pinion bearing is dying.
Put some grease or better yet yellow paint on some of the ring gear teeth and run it thru the pinion. Look at the pattern.
Excellent website on diff's is here. He really knows his stuff and has all the right tools and experience to do it right.

I've emailed ZUK and he would be willing to rebuild REPU rear ends with open or TORSEN diff's.
I've found out many of the gear shops do a very poor job at assembly and don't check their work. Let alone the pattern!@!!@! Strange industry.
