REPU Repower

My 74 is anxiously awaiting its new power plant. The old 4 port 13b finally gave up, so I had Rob at Pineapple Racing build a new engine for me. He built a 4 port, bridge ported, 13b that would be able to utilize my current intake and exhaust set-up. I have added a cold fusion nitrous system to the mix with a stand alone fuel system and MSD box to electronically retard the timing when using nitrous.

While he had the motor we had the pressure plate rebuilt into a dual diaphram (dual spring) set-up and had the 4 puck clutch re-pucked, and added a turbo throw-out bearing for good measure. He also had a cast water pump rebuilt and added a yohoo belt so I dont risk overheating the engine if I throw the alternator belt.

I picked up a new RB header and heat shield and had them coated with a special high temp application.

The fuel cell has been relocated to the front of the bed and off to the passenger side to aid in weight distribution and ease the fueling process.

This weekend I got the two fuel pumps installed, as well as all new stainless braided fuel lines for each pump and regulator.

I also wire wheeled the alternator as it was looking grungy after so many years of diligent service, and painted a few of the mounting brackets for the nitrous and fuel regulators.

Next is to sort out the wiring harness. My REPU has nothing in the way of heater/fan/defroster etc, nor does it have any of the smog control or any of that stuff. As such I need to figure out which of the wires are extra and which are not.

I think next weekend the engine is going to find its way into the engine bay so I can work out the mounting locations for the regulators and nitrous solenoids.

I have ordered an electric fan and thermostat to keep things cool for the Griffin radiator. The oil cooler has been flushed, pressure tested, and repainted.

With the fuel lines plumbed, it now time to wire them and get the MSD set-up in place.

I think I need a dry erase board to keep up with the many little things that still need to happen.
