SF Bay Area REPUs

Just wanted to see if there are any local REPU guys to my area. I'm in Cocord, CA and currently restoring a '75.

I should be pretty sorted and rolling again in a month.

I'm here in Sacramento. I think there's another one up towards Grass Valley.

Surprised no one else around here has one.

Currently my 77 is nonop due to smog. Will take awhile before I get it back on the road.

We're a small bunch huh? Hopefully someone else will chime in if we keep this thread near the top for a while.

Yeah, two REPUs and one not running. LOL

Thanks for your PM with some ideas. I'll post those ideas here with some results. Busy right now with the election. One silver lining, now I'm restoring my REPU trailer to tow behind my borrowed Jeep till the 77 gets fixed. Then it'll be caravan to the next sevenstock.

Your not trying to sell your 77 on Craigslist are you?

I did put it up for sale to see if any serious buyers. So far a lot of questions. I would consider selling since the smog is killing me. Just can't find the parts anymore and mine are all shot. I have a Sunbeam Alpine, just about done with the chassis, deciding to put a rotary in it. That way I wouldn't miss the REPU too much.

I also know of a guy in San Leandro with a 77, but his has been up on blocks for so long, not sure he could smog it either. I haven't seen another one here in Sacramento since Checkpoint closed about 5+ years ago. And the one I thought was in Grass Valley has relocated to Las Vegas along with the rotary mechaninc in Redding. It IS getting lonely around here.

Any chance you went a arc about 6ish years ago? Try hitting up the bar. If they can't source the parts for you the should exempt you.

Yes, I went there for engine management with Ben French and welding with Mark Reese. Were you in one of those classes? I brough my REPU in for French to take a look at, try to get him into something else besides Corvairs (which are pretty cool too).

Frenchy is in the vw club I belong to. I had several first gen Rx7s and chatted with you a few times about your truck.
