VIN location?
Is the VIN plate located at the usual spot on drivers side dash at bottom of windshield? Mine doesnt seem to be there, is there another way of finding it in case its missing?

Hey Mr. Payne. I found one on the crossmember of a 75 after removing it. I no longer have that part to check. Recently went to look for the one on my 77 and couldn't find it. If it makes a difference.

Not the plate itself, which was on the shelf above the firewall on the passenger side. The VIN number was stamped into the crossmember.

I found my VIN also stamped on the frame rail. Drivers side, very front, top side. In the engine compartment. Never knew it was there except I cleaned and painted the frame and the numbers magically appeared once the grime was removed.
