1974 : Original Tyre Dimensions

Howdy all,
I'm trying to determine the original tyre profile for a 1974 repu. I know 14" x 7.35" and 6ply radial. Does anyone know the profile? I need to tick all the right boxes to get this machine on the road in Australia.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Cheers, Dan

From research on this forum, the modern size tire that comes closest to the original the the 185R14C. This is actually a popular size for the old VW Buses, and the bus guys have some good reviews on tires in that size:

Keep in mind, the "C" in 185R14C stands for "Commercial", so these are tires designed to carry a load, not for performance. I've had the Hankook RA08s on my truck for 5 or 6 years now, and I love them. They actually handle pretty good, for what they are, and when you are carrying a load, they are fantastic. Past several years, I've been doing a lot of projects around my house where I've been buying bags of sand, gravel, concrete etc... I generally will buy 16, 80 pound bags of concrete when I go to the home improvement store, and the truck handles the load great.

FWIW, rumor has it, they are discontinuing the RA08 in the US, but looking at Hankook's Australia site, it seems to still be available there. In the US, they are touting the "RA18" as it's replacement. They have a 185R14 listed as available in AU:

Here's a site in the US that has some info on the RA18s:
