REPU in Sweden

I`ve been in touch with a REPU owner in sweden for awhile, he recently sent me a link to a rotary club in Norway that just had a rotary meet that he attended. Check out his truck, the fenders are flared because when the truck was brought to Sweden in the 70`s it had wide tires that stuck out past the fenders, thats illegal in sweden, so the original owner had it flared. I`ve never seen a REPU with a visor either. It was seven hour drive from his home in sweden to the meet in Norway. The club did not know he was coming and were floored by the REPU The kind rotary owners in Norway put him up in a cabin so he wouldn`t have to sleep in his truck and insisted he eat their food and drink their beer. Aren`t rotorheads the nicest people!! Heres the link http://home.online.no/%7Ehustvesa/ I hope I got that right, I`m still learning basic computer skills.

well i guess thats one way to deal with a missing/damaged grill emblem.

I'd guess that the visor was for a Chevy Luv, and modified to fit

I saw some of those turn signal lenses on eBay recently and wondered if they would fit. The looked a little too tall to me, and mounted on the truck it looks like they are.

what is under the hood? Stock?

I wish there were more pictures of it

Here are the Owner of the swedish REPU

Hi,There...
All Repu guys...
I have been logged to this nice forum for some time now...
But i have not got time to wright so much... StraightRepu have been my parts suplier on parts to my rare Repu and i want to say that he also is a nice fellow... I will wright down the history of this Repu later how it ended up here in sweden for 28 years ago only two years old at the time...

Wankel_dreams have lots of questions and i think i am the man to give the answer to them...
When the previos owner had the Repu the grill was damage by something so he cut out the hole and put in the extra light... I do got a brand new grill to replace it with and also a center grill emblem so next pics you see it might look better as it should... This visor is in fact a orginal extra equipment from Mazda and they was made for B1600 and B1800, i think the visor not were sold in the states... I have seen some Mazda piston engine Pickups with these visors... The visor is not redone to fit the Repu,it fits right on as it is... The Repuīs has the same line as itīs brother piston pickup... I know were there is a Piston engined pickup with this kind of visor... And i have read out on the top of it, Mazda orginal equipment... So thereīs no way that i am wrong at that point...
The turn signal lenses are from Mazda Rx4-74 that was sold here in europe... They had to be white and orange to get through inspection... My Repu might have had the orginal lenses when it came from the states in the mid 70īs... Well , the thing that is under the hood is a embarrassed thing to tell, But i going to take care of that when i have restored the orginal engine that i have...
The engine that takes this Repu around is a Nissan kingcab overhead cam engine 1,6 litres... It works and i comes to the places i am going too... Itīs better to have a piston in it so i can use it, than have it stand still... When the orginal 13B is ready it goes back in... Wankel_dreams if you can tell me how to send pics to this forum i will do it... I tryed before but i failed then...

Take Care All...

The swed...

Do you have everything you need

for your original 4-port 13B to rebuild and put it back in? Can't promise anything, but let us know if we can help...! Whatever you do, get some kind of 13B back in there... (Where are those renesis crate motors when you need 'em?) :)

Thanks for your consideration "Klaus42" !!!

I have get things that i need to the body and some interrior parts... I have buyed all things to my Repu from the states and most of it from E-bay , But some of it have been brand new items...The prices can get high on the Bay as all know...
I have not opened the 13B orginal Repu engine , So i donīt know what to find there...
The owner before me must have disambled the engine and put it together again...But i think they didīnt know so much about Rotary engines... I have found a gel silicon rubber gasket foam at the rotor housings and i beleave that they have not get the engine watertight... So i hope that nothing is so damage that the engine is a piece of Junk !!!

I asume that i will need a complet gasket set and maybe a Oilrings set as well , and if itīs bad i might need the apexs and side seals with springs too...
And if itīs realy bad i might have to replace the Rotorhousings as well... You never know how bad it is before , but after an hour of disambling you have it before your eyes... I might gone take some pics when i disamble the engine so you guys can follow me step by step...

I have one thing that i need to my Repu and that is the Battery box... The boxes donīt like rust i beleave , and to find a good looking battery box might be a tough task...

A orginal Drive shaft is also a item that i have been looking for , so if anyone have one ???

I hope that i can get the 13B back in as soon as posseble , but the lack of dollar can slow the rebuild a bit... The rebuilt might take some time as i need to raise the money for it...
So the piston engine have to move the Repu around a little bit more before it goes to the Junk yard...

I can only imagine how it is to go around in the Repu with a ZZZZZzzzzzZZZZZ Zumming 13B under the hood... Might be much nicer than the Piston... And a lot faster too...

Thanks once again Klaus42 and take care on the other side of the world , i mean the sea... :-) ...

Over and out !!!
