"Whoa Doggies 2" ...the sequel....

So after three weeks of semi-communication with Bill, the designated representative for the elusive and mysterious REPU-owning "Roxie", I finally met him and saw firsthand his long-time stored REPU.

It is a 75, green, has original motor, all emissions equipment and is reputed to run, but smoke like a banshee. It is definately unrusted, less a bit of surface rust here and there and suprisingly complete. It is also an auto WITH factory A/C. Dash and int. is complete and in good but dirty condition.

It's faults are a dented drivers fender, cracked grill, dented valance( of course), and broken hinge on an otherwise complete battery box. The paint is dirty, but in great condition because of being covered for 15 or so years. It has a weird half hinging canopy on the bed which kept the bed in absolutely great and clean condition less a few dents on the wheel tubs. He has another complete running engine, two 5 speed transmissions, and a host of extra parts like headlight chromes, radio surrounds, interior parts, etc....all for $350.00. Beats the hell out of the $800.00 Roxie wanted for the rusted hulk in the field. After I secure this one, I will go after the parts truck in the field for a lot less. I plan on using the excuse that I need it's parts....

This new one has been in storage so long, the garage has been built around it and a post has to be taken out supporting the roof just to remove the REPU.

So, it looks like #8 will be joining the stable soon. This will be a good runner without much effort if the engines are in as decent shape as the truck. I will be needing to seriously consolidate and clear out a frame or two in the near future....or so I promised the wife as she sat in my truck for an hour whilst I negotiated the new addition.

Stay tuned.....

Congrat's!

You really know how to find 'em! What a sweet score for the $$$! At that price, a lot of stuff doesn't matter, for what is there... Just make sure that roof doesn't collapse on it when the post comes out!

I finally scooped up the elusive 75 green machine...

and it's at the farm in the stable with the rest of the herd. I snagged it last Sunday from Bill.

I got two complete grills, headlight chromes, and hood trims with it. I then talked him into swapping out the grill from the Rustoleum test project in the field with a broken set I had, and netted a third complete front trim set in the deal.

Just today I picked up a second engine from a storage garage he keeps, and I talked him into giving up the front bumper from the field fodder in exchange for a bent up bumper I have. I am now working on getting the perfect hood off him in exchange for a cracked/dented one I have. I have convinced him that whoever buys the truck and drives it into the ground won't care much for the body condition since the floor is completely rusted through so why waste perfectly good collector parts. That leaves the pasture truck with only two good fenders, a few lights, a battery door, and little else.

So this is clearly why it pays to keep the broken/twisted pieces you know you won't need. You never know when opportunity will present itself.

Work it, work it......

Kick, you need my 'spare' bed!

It comes with a battery door... unless you mean the door portion of the b-box itself... I might have some spare side markers for ya too; I'll have to look...
Now someone needs to go out in that field at night and rescue those two good fenders... :)
