Vac Adv

When I got my truck from Mark, it had been worked on by someone that decided to un-smog it completly. I'm not complaining. It runs great. My question is, the vacuum advance is disconnected. I would like to hook it back up but don't have a clue where it should go on the carb or manifold. If anyone has any suggestions and or pictures of your setup please let me know. Thanks, Charles

Are you still running the Hitachi?

I'll have to go look, to try and describe to you which fitting it goes to... though you may well find that it'll provide no benefit as vs. how it's currently set up/timed.

(Also best to inspect your dizzy to confirm function of mechanical advance and return... sometimes, that stuff sticks...)

:)

Sorry it took me so long, Charles!

I've got one vac. advance (trailing, I believe) connected up to the fitting on the carb. just to the left of the big air screw (when viewed from the driver's side). Only fitting just below the metering oil line, to the front of the truck... The one I've got hooked up is the one located the farthest away/closest to the driver's side, on my electronic ignition dizzy. Other one is disconnected.

Hope this helps! (Better late than never?)

*Caps on all unused fittings on carb. and manifold require periodic inspection/replacement; they do degrade... (But, you knew that...) :)
