electronic dist?

hello my swap is almost complete all i need to do i hook up the dist to the coils anyone know of an easy using what i have 2coils 1elec dist.. guide with pictures? thanks so much

Go to www.rx7club.com and search for "direct fire" in the first gen section. You will find many threads on how to wire up what you have.

i dont want direct fire i just wanna get it started.. its a 81-85 dizzy and malory coils..

I mis-read your post that you had 2nd gen coils - you have two coils. In that case easy install.


The electric dist. has two ignitors. Each ignitor has two terminals. If you visualize the terminals they make a "T".
The ignitor toward the front of the car is the leading. The other is trailing.

You need:
12V switched power to the positive of both coils.
You need a wire running from the top of the "T" of each ignitor to the positive of each coil.
You need a wire running from the other terminal of each ignitor to the negative of each coil.
Done.

i have old school coils and 84 elec dizzy. i got the harness from the rx7 hooked it up and ran the 12v to the + on both coils now the + and - look like they are getting power is that right?
