Plugs 'n Mufflers...
Hey everyone--elsewhere in these threads sometime ago these questions remained unanswered, due to my own distraction. So here goes:
Plugs I'm running in my Japan-4port motor in my driver REPU are all four BUR9EQ's, with excellent results. Periodic cleaning, and perhaps swapping leading/trailing positions for evenness of wear is all I do to these.
Non-stock 'cheapo' mufflers I'm running--still working after much abuse, tho not quite as quiet as initially--two "super turbo" mufflers,(one in the stock position and one at the back), part number 17711/8812. Manufactured by Thrush, I think, though sold under another name I can't recall...
On the blue '74 I sold there's a single, larger one of the same type, mounted in the stock position, part # 17747/12 545, same manufacturer... it's a bit throatier, but then that motor was ported, too.
