2nd gen Alternator.

How many amps are the 1st and 2nd gen alternators rated for? It looks like the terminals for electrical hook up are very similiar. Is the 2nd gen alternator a better one to use in our trucks?

I can tell you the 2nd gen alternator is considered an upgrade for a 1st gen RX-7. The amps are more, but there is a slight wiring difference. Not sure about the wiring for our trucks, however.

If you go the www.rx7club.com, do a search in the 1st gen section about 'alternators', there's a wealth of info in there.

FC alternators are about 60amps
