You can get them at rockauto.com w/o the reservoir.

The one they have for 77 has two tubes going to a remote reservoir. The one they have listed for 74 is correct for 74 and they list it as 74-77 so you'll have to decide which is correct for 77.

They also offer a send yours in and have it rebuilt service.

Thanks for your help. So far I've ordered the wrong master cylinder and had to send it back. It was a 77-only R11787. This is the kind that has a small bleeder screw on the front and remote hoses. The brake line bosses are in the wrong places. Blah!

Ok, now I'm waiting for my refund. Then I need to order the correct master cylinder.

You mentioned a rebuild service. That would be A-1 CARDONE Part # 111781. It looks to be the cheapest at $27.79 but you have to send yours in beforehand; probably not an option for me. The second option is the reman BENDIX Part # R12744 for $36.79 but it says it's for manual brakes. The one just below is reman BENDIX Part # R11809 for $39.79 with a $10.00 core but it says it's for power brakes (the pic looks wrong though). The last option is the expensive CENTRIC Part # 13045500 for $79.79 which I assume is new and appears to come with a reservoir. I'd rather not spend that much.

Upon studying the pictures of all three, the rebuild service A-1 cardone and the $36.79 bendix appear to use the same pictures. Are they the same unit? And why does it say it's for manual brakes? All REPUs had power brakes.

Anyway the $36.79 bendix looks like the right part. Can anyone help me out? The last time I did a master in a REPU was '97. It's been a while.

Please compare these pictures of master cylinders and let me know which looks the most like ours. I'd have to say this one: http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=2666994

Not this one: http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=2666914

usually the only difference between manual and power brakes is the shaft length that inputs the power booster or non power booster (manual) use your shaft from your old master on the rebuilt one.

You're talking about the rod that pokes out forward from the booster?

You want the one with the brake ports NOT close together. In your post with the links, it is the first one.

The BENDIX Part # R11809 is for courier and b1600's with front DRUM brakes. And is incorrectly listed for REPU.

I've seen other items on rockauto.com incorrectly listed for REPU. Like outer pinion bearing and axle bearing retaining collar (repu has a threaded nut instead of collar).

I ordered one for a 77 at autozone. It works well. Had a problem with the brake line connections on the cylinder. The tapped inserts were SEA instead of metric. Swapped out with the old ones and worked fine.
