New Wiring From Scratch

Just what are we talking about to rewire just about everything?

Say if you were basically rebuilding a REPU from frame up, and you were going to swap in an EFI 6-Port anyway. What are we really talking about in terms of PITA-factor to basically require the whole darn thing.

I'm just thinking new wiring, new relays, new everything...

Is the stock wiring problematic enough to make such an undertaking even worth considering?

sounds like a major pain to me, especially if you're gonna use a stock rx7 ECU. If you were gonna go with a carb, or aftermarket timing/fuel computer there are complete generic wiring looms for street rods that would be make it alot easier.

Thats the way I am doing it..I'm gonna go with a carb, and I got a universal harnes from Painless wiring. I just rewired the whole rear end of the truck the other day...I even got one with the wires for the power locks and windows that I am gonna put in..

The short answer is "yes, you can do this." I took the harness completely out of my Rx-2 when I restored it. I reused a lot of the original, and tried to maintain the color codes. It was a great chance to repair corroded conx. and grounds.
I also wired in extra circuits, for lights, audio, etc.
So plan for these when you do your Repu.
Ron Francis Wire Works, is great if you want to replace it all, but a little more costly.
I'm intending to do this same thing in my 76 Cosmo, and I'm probably going to try to put in the stock 2nd gen. FI and six port set-up. I want to use the stock engine harness, but it will involve integration with the chassis harness.
The Repu by itself is fairly straight forward, the trick is understanding the FI, 6 port wiring. Get a good (ie Mazda) wiring diagram, and plot the whole thing before you start.
A local guy put an 87 13b in his 74 Repu, but it took him 6 mos. working on weekends and nights.
Take your time, and document everything.
Let me know how it goes!

Wiring diagram

Anyone work a simple wiring diagram for a Carb setup with Ignition, starter, lights, turn signals, reverse lights, electric fan, electric fuel pump, and horn?

I have 5 relays from radio shack, and all the toggle switches for a racing style dash. This is my first rotary and am not too sure of my electrical engineering.

If someone is willing to share..

Thanks in advance.
