Clutch? Need help please.....

Can anybody on here tell me if the clutch's in the early RX7's (pre-84) fit the REPU 13b trucks? Specifically a 1977 with the 5 speed manual trans? The reason I am asking is that I am having a hard time locating a 8 7/8" clutch for this truck. Autozone and Advance Auto doesn't list a clutch that big for the 1977 Mazda Rotary pickup but that is exactly what I have pulled out of it, and it appears this is the size that came in the early RX7's. I know zilch about interchangability with the early Mazda so hopefully someone on here can clue me in. On a side note there is a possibility that this truck will be going up for sale when it is done. More info to follow.....

from my research i have found that it is the same clutch as the early 7's ad well as most of the mazda vehicles from the time including ford couriers... and on that note i would make sure to buy a high quality clutch... i just had mine scatter in my driveway

You need to change the flywheel to a GSL-SE. Then any 225mm disc and pressure plate from 83-88 can be used. You're welcome.

Actual differences:
REPU flywheel is 30 pounds, weird step disc and odd 9 bolt pressure plate. Good luck finding replacements.

GSL-SE flywhweel is 26 pounds and still plenty heavy enough for these trucks. Clutch discs and pressure plates are easily found.

Both are in 225mm so no loss of friction area.
