Clutch help!!

I went and picked up my rotary pickup today, on the way home I started to have some problems putting it in gear. I had to pump the clutch about 3 or 4 times to get it to go in to gear sometimes, while, most of the time when I was at a stop. I also started to panic, witch didn’t help any. Sitting there when the light is green trying your dammedest to get the thing in gear. I also didn’t like having to put the clutch all the way to the floor. Does anyone have any ideas how to adjust it and if adjusting might fix this problem?

re clutch problems

Sounds like you're low on fluid in your clutch master cylinder. If it keeps leaking you'll have to rebuild it.

yeah other drivers sometimes aren't very tolerant of people learning to drive stick, or people with tempermental vehicles. because nothing is going to help you get it in gear like a horn blowing.

I always put my vehicle in gear when the other direction turns yellow. I also always push the clutch to the floor of all vehicles i drive??? i thought you were supposed to. It disengages before the floor though. As for having to pump the clutch...that doesn't sound good

If the fluid level is not low, it's likely the master cylinder is leaking back. That's a rebuild or replacement issue.
If the fluid is low and the truck has set to much, sometimes the lower cylinder goes bad and leaks it out. If you top it up and it goes down again, That's likely. I have had three different Mazdas to that trick from sitting too long. I believe I was able to fix that with a rebuild kit, very simple. Not much to that lower cylinder.

Might be best

to just replace your clutch slave, which I'll guess is the culprit. I recently replaced everything in the clutch hydr. system piece-by-piece...when I got one good piece, the next went out... Now I have all new master, slave, and hose... finally, works great! Mazda still has the hose... On our REPU's it's the coarse threads... some rx4's went to a banjo fitting... 1st-gen rx7's have a fine thread setup... other than that--and perhaps the bore on the master cyl.--the main difference might be the particular length of the actuating rod, so save yours!
I for one don't believe in standing on the clutch, with gear engaged, for any period of time... just puts wear on your throw-out bearing... IMHO ... just put 'er in Neutral!
Also bear in mind, besides needing a hand to properly bleed the system, (unless you have a pump for this purpose), you'll want to prime any new/rebuilt cylinders with brake fluid prior to install... also, always use fluid from a fresh, sealed container! And beware: it does remove paint...
