Gas line on 74

I picked up a pristine 74 REPU for $1100. 120k, only 15k since new factory engine.

Only problem: gas hose is cracked right at the carb banjo fitting. So I pulled it off the nipple and cutoff 1/2 inch and now I'm trying to get it back on the nipple. Maybe I'll have to replace the whole hose, which is 36" long with a fitting down low on the passenger side.

Is that fuel hose easily available? Is there a common American/japanese part from another car? How can I get that %^$^% hose on over the nipple?

I just replaced my fuel hose with the generic stuff in a big box available at any auto parts store.

Yep, I got 4 feet of 5/16 (8mm) gas hose to use. Only problem is that connector down low on the end opposite the carb. Don't know if it's molded on, or what. Too dark and rainy when we worked on it. So I'm gonna try splicing in a short piece of 5/16 with a gas union.

I replaced the whole hose. It's just a single barbed connection at the pipe from the tank.

We were lucky we didn't blow up the truck and ourselves the other night!

This REPU runs like a champ. I just drove it home and it is sweet. Best $1100 I ever spent.
