vintagerotarydecals.com ?

Hi all.

I have a REPU, and after i painted the car, the decals are missing. I contcted Juan at the company vintagerotarydecals.com, but there has been limited sucess.

At first we talked, I got replies on mails, etc, but lately I can't get hold of him. Juan is running this shop on his spare time, I think, but at least he could reply to my mails? It is not that I have gotten on his bad side either. All conversations have been nice and prudent. I DON'T feel stiffed either, but I just think it is weird he is not responding to my numrous mails and messages on his telephone.

I just want the decals, or a confirmation that he can not deliver them now, in a month, or ever. As it is now, people at the red light don't know what hit them when I smoke their ass. If I had the stock Rotary Power sticker, they would know.

Anyone know Juan, or someone else who could make some decals for my REPU?

My REPU is Olympic Blue(AK), and the decals should be white.

Ciao

People, we have a problem. Juan no longer can do this due to costs (from RX-7 club forum). Some of you creative types out there can surely come up with a way to make these at a decent price...

Well, if I had to do it (fortunately, the original lettering is intact on my 74REPU) I'd take a camera with a long focus telephoto lens (to reduce barreling and foreshortening) back off from the tailgate at a height halfway up the lettering, take a couple shots and put it into my favorite computer pic editor. Then, with one height measurement, I'd zoom it up to original height, use the edge finder to create templates and print the letters out. then one could use the negative template to spray or positive template to handcut letters from tough white insoluble material, maybe photo finished paper or some kind of thin white plastic sheeting.

All well and good (as if I understood half of what was said), but it won't help on the original striping. I suppose someone with all striping/lettering intact could provide measurements...

Why not just someone (who's friendly w/ him) ask him for the data he uses, and take it to a vinyl sticker maker?

He uses the same machines/measurements any other vinyl sticker guy uses. If he can't do the stickers anymore someone should get his measurements/data. Even if you have to pay for it, then we can find another vinyl sticker vendor who can do the actual cutting.

Dan, Ken? Anyone? If you want to get together as a group to buy the measurements from him I'm up for it. We are the central repository for all things REPU on teh web, it makes sense that we buy it and keep this invaluable service/product viable.

Count me in. I'll help wherever I can, pool $$ to help get the measurements, etc. I'm going to need these decals in a month or so when my restore is finished. A REPU just isn't a REPU without the factory stickers!

Let me know, as well...

Does Juan maybe have some inventory --whether for REPU or for the other oldschool models-- remaining as well?

Clearance sale??? :)

fill in the 'void' left by Juan..

Anything new here? I'd like to get striping, but Juan seems to have disappeared again.
