Crap..holes in the rockers.
Just thought it was pitted with surface rust, but nope. A couple of small fingernail sized holes in the rocker panels. How best to fill them? I want it to hold up, paint job coming in a few weeks.
Wonder if there's any chance of getting these new from a newer truck that would fit my 74?

Yep, I have a neighbor that's good at that stuff. In fact, he's taken my REPU project and msking it his own signature refurb. I'd have cut lots of corners here and there, but he's having NONE of that. It's going to take an extra 4 or 5 weeks because he's having me strip every, single atom of old paint, plus every sign of rust has to go.
This thing will be a showpiece when it's finally done!

Per my 'genius' body man neighbors advise, I'm going to fill the holes with something called 'metal to metal', supposedly designed for just such a project. Anyone use this stuff before?

All I could find in a google search for "metal to metal" is some kind of adhesive. Is that what you are talking about or is this something to fill holes? I am starting to consider how I want to go about fixing up my REPU and small rust hole filling is certainly a concern for me. I am sure welding in new pieces is the best, but I dont know where to begin with that.

'Metal to Metal' is a body filler made by evercoat. I couldn't find anything on google either, but it seems to work well...I'm filling holes with it as we speak. it's got aluminum in it, so says the label, and is designed for filling holes in metal. My neighbor has used it for years and says he's never seen it crack. Same reason he swears by the 'Rage' brand of bondo stuff.
So far, I'm impressed with both. Gotta clean the hole areas as much as possible, then apply small coat, sand, repeat till filled and smooth.

Rust
We use "Rage" bondo where I work as a filler for small dents on fairly flexible parts that see quite a few MPH in service, the stuff works quite well when thin, for thicker repairs (deeper dents) we us an epoxy adhesive instead of bondo.
