Tailgate chains...

Hey guys...what are you guys using for tailgate chains? Typical chain with plastic inserts? I'm thinking about Tailgate wire cable wrap with plastic? It should give a clean look...what you guys think? Anyone has pics of it?

I'm using the stockers with a mountain bike inner tube over the chains so they don't rattle.

The brackets at either end of the chain are the key. That bolt to the bed on one end and tailgate at the other.

I found some tailgate cables at NAPA that should work. They're 27" long which is about right. Lighter and no rattle. Clean. I say go for it.

I coated mine in rubber tool handle grip from the home depot and they look awesome! The inner tubes rub black marks on the bed and tailgate and just look bad. Go to some junkyards to find the original chains, courier and non rotary Mazda trucks are the same. If you can't find them, I can. Napa is crap.

mine has some plasti-coated chain on what i think are the factory brackets. they still rattle though, so im going to swap it all out for ford ranger cables if i don't just add a tailgate net. my gate is pretty rusted out...
