Taillights
I spoke with a friend from Texas the other day. He says he has two large boxes from an old Mazda dealership. Says that in one there are "new" in the wrapper taillight lenses for our REPU's. Says that in the other there are "new" in the wrapper chrome outer rings for the taillights.
If this is true it is the first time in the past 10 years that I know of a source for these items. Mazda discontinued the part numbers long ago.
If anyone is interested post a reply.
I do have used ones for sale, but if he will sell them resonably priced I may get me a set of new ones.

Never heard from the guy in TX about the lenses.
I wonder if there is a clear lense out there that is about the same size circle. We could run LED lights.

I would also be very, very psyched to have the chance to buy a set or two new, with trim... let's hope they turn up eventually, after all. Personally, I'm not into the clear-lens "euro" thing-- but it'd be a decent way to go if undamaged stock lenses were truly, totally unobtainable...
Also, I did run into a guy here once who expressed a desire to go clear...I'd love to trade him a clear set for his two or three good originals!

I saw them today
Look on the back of government school buses. The back up light is clear and round. It appears to be fluted like a regular lense.
I noticed as I was making faces at the 2 kids in back seat today.

Oh yeah, they also have the 1157 replacement bulbs at Pep Boys with the LED's in them. I want some of those that spin inside of the light though.

Now your getting out there.
The moving LED lights I saw were on the back of a guys motorcycle I saw sitting in traffic. When pressed the brakelights would light up and start the LED lighting up in a spinning sequence.
