windshield wiper motor

Does anyone know whether the windshield wiper motor from a Mazda B1600 or B1800 is the same as a repu wiper motor? The part has a Mazda CEW Part Number 7768-005 (whatever that means!)
Thanks.

wiper motor

The wiper motor for the REPU was different from the B1600 and B1800 trucks, if you need one I have an extra already pulled.

I think I might...

...have a spare from an rx-4; I believe these were identical... I'd have to go dig a little out in the garage... certainly not new, though!

I think you'll find (as I did) that the rx4 wiper motor won't work in the repu as a bolt -on

Why doesn't it?

I'll certainly defer to your 'voice of experience' in this matter, but now I'm curious--and I haven't yet checked mine-- are the motors actually any different, or is it simply a relay/multi-function switch issue? I realize the linkage isn't the same...

Part number appear to be the same

When I checked with Schucks Auto Parts, they gave the same part number for a windshield wiper motor for both the repu and B1600. My motor is still working, but after 29 years and living near Seattle my wipers get used often. I may have found a cheap replacement that is listed for the B1600 and I thought that I might get it if it could serve as a spare for the future.

Check out ebaymotors...

...auction # 2443586516 ...it's in Florida, but it comes with the linkage... and I'm not gonna bid up the price, so go for it!

Thanks for the information, but I already obtained a rebuilt motor, but without the linkage for $4.00. I won't be bidding on this auction. But thanks anyway.

Courier wiper motor

I started cleaning out my garage and came across alot of parts that I pulled off an 81 Ford Courier. The wiper motor and linkage were there also. I plugged it into the repu wiper motor cable and it worked like a champ a two speed motor, the exact same wiring/plug on my 77. I then checked out the linkage and its the same as the repu. Looks like the Courier is another source of wiper parts.

My Hollander 8th Foreign interchange book....

says that they are interchangeable with a B-1600 '72-76, a B-1800 '76-78, a B-2000 '79-81, a B-2000 '82-84 with am radio or no radio, and a B-2200 '82-84 with am radio or no radio.-

They list the interchange number as a 51233, Mazda part 1823-67-370A.

For what its worth anyway.
