Getting my dash pad covered
Dropped it off a couple days ago, should be ready for me to pick up Wednesday. Going to run me $150 though! I should charge my friend that tried repairing the cracks with JB Weld, I think the shop having to grind all that down is the bulk of the cost.
Now if I can find some of the screws I need to put it back on, having been removed the last 4 years a few things get lost. Interior will look much better with a nice pad up there, next on the list is to have a headliner made. Anybody have experience with that?
I should have taken "before" pics of the dash pad, didnt even think to. I will post "after" pics this week.

Headliner
$150 is cheap ... hope you get a good job ......
(on the dash)
I have listed a headliner at:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7953417503
You need to pull front and rear windows to do the job right.
Wrap around edge and apply sealant to glass rubber ..... even if new.

Would you mind telling me where you got the dashpad recovered and what material you used? How did it come out?
Thank you.

Just got the dash cover back and does it look sweet! I need to get some pictures of it and will post them.
I just had it done at a local upholstry shop, wrapped in Vinyl and padded a little. Well worth the $150. Now I just need to figure out how to re-install it, I know I have lost most of the screws.

Dash Pad
I need to recover my pad in my REPU, however, I'm having a hell of a time figuring out how to get the pad disconnected from the dashboard frame??? I can feel screw threads underneath but can't find the tops. What is holding this thing in? Help!!
I had the dash pad recovered on my Rx2. We used upholstry fabric that matched the new seats. The guy just took the old pad, smoothed the cracked vinyl, and streched and glued the fabric over it. After several years, it's holding up to the sunlight nicely, and still looks good.
Thanks!

Top screws are easy, just remove the metal dash and the top screws are exposed. The hard ones are the two end bolts. If I remember the bolts are molded into the dash. You'll need a couple of extensions with an flexible joint inbetween. Reach up at the far ends and find the bolts by touch. You might be able to see them through the windhsield or with a mirror underneath.

More dash
Thanks! You're right, it did take an extension and a swivel to get those nuts. Also gave me the excuse to clean out behind everything. Unfortunately, the windshield had leaked and rusted some areas, so I have restoration to begin.
