Hello experts.
I may have the option to buy a cherry red 1974 RPU. Before that happens, would you be able to recommend (1) some sort of guide (2) a terrific mechanic in the Chicago area and (3) items to look for, as I humbly wait at the edge.
Many thanks. Best, S.

What to look for.................
Rust! After that, having a truck as complete as possible is best, but Rust is the enemy. Make sure to check under the carpet, under/around the door weatherstriping, and under/inside the front fenders. Rust is the trucks worst enemy and would be your biggest problem.
Everything after that is pretty easy. It just time and money looking for parts and improving them.
As for a guide, read on in the search section. And as for a mechanic in Chicago.....You'll have to ask another for that help.
Oh yea, Welcome to the forum. Enjoy.
