front springs
i have stock coil springs on my 74 right now , i need to find out the id , od , spring height and rate for stock . id like to have some -2"springs made and need the stock specs . i would measure my own but they are on the truck and i drive it a lot. Any help would be greatly appreciated . and any advice on good spring rates other than stock for performance could help . had -2" cut springs ,they are a little stiff ,and im not interested in coil overs .

springs
Outside diameter . . . . . 4 1/2"
Inside diameter . . .. . 3 1/4"
height . . . . . . 11 7/8"
Spring rate 512 lbs
Suggested spring rate . . up to you and how you like the handling. 512lb works pretty good and stable.
When you cut a spring you can almost calc an approx extra 70lbs spring rate per spring you cut. If yours are down 2", probably two coils cut so add 140 lbs to the 512 . . . So you have about 652+lbs for spring rate . . Stiff & bouncy.
Why not coil overs? About the same cost.
