Courier rims work...Mitsubishi as well... I'm running 15x7's with a standard offset, and 195 or 205 '60's. These work fine since I haven't lowered--but they do stick out some. My R-1's are on 15x 7.5" rims, and they're a 205/50 tire... still no problem, even in hard, hard cornering, since I'm not yet low... I've debated this delimma myself--what to go with so I can lower 2 to 3"... you might have it: custom offsets to max. width with no clearance problems. Perhaps different for front vs. rear even...due to the REPU's wider front track. I like the idea of having stock REPU rims reworked/widened. Then you can run the stock centers! Better yet would be to get some a bit bigger, tho--so you can run less sidewall without getting too small overall... 15" rims with 50 or 60 series tires seem to approximate the original overall tire/wheel diameter, and since our rear ratios are already so low, why downsize? --K.
