well this is on the subject but a little different car but the same principal...I built a simple, cheap turbo system for my vw for ....$400. It is a pull through set-up with a turbo from the junkyard off a Dodge Daytona...all I can say after some carb tuning (a 40 year old Zenith carb) homemade boost controller($7) it's run a 12.3 at 102 in the 1/4 mile on 10 pounds boost...If you've got fab skills, mig welder, a little time and can lower the compression on that lil Mazda you can do it....
