74 Repu in sweden...

Hello , Repu friends...

I am back... I have been gone for some time now , but my search for parts have not ended yet... As i will look and gather parts as long as there´s missing some... I have a big problem with rust on my Repu´s Cab... I have located some early Mazda B1600 pickup´s and i hope they might look and be the same as the cab on the Repu , so if some one knows if they have the same mould as repu ones let me know... My only chance to make some time saving in this restore of my repu , is to locate an other cab... My Repu have been in sweden since 1976 and have seen alot of salted roads the first two years , after that a man from north of sweden practically saved it from a close dead experience...

I would like to have some answers about other parts simular from Mazda B1600 that fits the Repu if there are any...

Thanks for now...

b1600 cab is similar but there are differences

tranny tunnel is higher on REPU to accomodate the higher e-shaft location.

REPU has simulated wood paneling

Gauges are different, especially gas gauge but gauge cluster may swap over.

heater system is same. brake master is different on b1600 since it has front drums but u can swap REPU brake stuff over. i bet brake bias is different too.

doors, roof and windshield are same. i don't know if bolt holes on cab to frame are same. this is important.

someone else chime in?

Going slow Klaus !!!

Hello , Klaus...

I have been gone from this site for some time now , but my intrest in mazda is still up... I have been building on a house for some time now and it takes both time and money... Pouhhh !!!

So my hobby is little put a-side , but i need to do something else after a long building period , and what´s nicer than lay back on my hobby a little time ?? It is vinter time here and there is not much to do outdoors , so it´s perfect to hunting parts at winter seasons...

I also have intrest in other old mazdas and have located some really old and rare cars...

One Mazda 929 Wagon from 1974 and same owner have a mazda 929 sedan also from 1974... The owners father bought both cars brand new in 1974 and have had them up til today...

I will go and get both cars in summertime next year , and i can inform you that this 1974 wagon is the very last one left here in sweden... So i have to save it for the future...

Over and out...

What's a '74 '929' ...

...equivalent to? Was that the piston-engine, european version of the rx-4 (and rx-4 wagon), back then?

...or are these the oldschool euro/non-N. American rotary models???

Yes Klaus !!!

That´s right Klaus , it´s the piston european model of Rx4 wagon they are called Mazda 929 wagon here... I am not sure if they were sold in US as piston models like Rx4 wagon ?? But here in sweden they were only sold as piston cars , we did´nt got them in Rx mode back at that time...

We only got Rotary powered Cars like the Rx3 coupé and the Rx4 Coupé and some Rx4 sedans... A few other cars slipped through customs back in the early seventys like five Rx2´s coupés and three Rx3 Sedans... No R100 coupés came to swedish port , but Norway our neighbouring country got about 50 to 60 units... There are only twelve left today... I have located one of them and are trying to buy it , i have been processing the owner for several years now and i hope he will give up on it some day...

Then we also have some private inported cars like some Rx3 wagons and some Rx4 wagons from the USA... And of course my Repu... That infact was bought in the states by a swedé brand new back in 1974 in washington... And shipped to sweden in 1976 , then only seven owners have had it before i got my hands on it... I remeber that day i found it , i then did´nt beleave my eyes when i saw the add. I had been dreaming about to get an Repu in three years , and had been thinking to buy me one from the states... But to take one home from the states is expencive and lined with customs problems and some fees to pay , and right there it was in an add for Rotorpeople here in sweden... My lucky day , two weeks later and the Repu pickup were landed in my back yard... My option then , to find a Repu in sweden was about 00,1% and i nailed it at last... I have checked with our road department and there is no more Repu pickup registrated here than the one i have... So it´s the one and only present here for now...
