Hello totoaly new and ingnorant

Hey, peeps, as the threed says, totaly ingnorant, Ah Blis!

Don't know a thing about Repu's, only ever seen one on the road, have allways like the look of the couriers and anyway wife left resently and I have been dreeming up this new project to rotarize a courier, so I'm on E-bay trying to find one no luck so I do a search for rotary motors and low and behold $300us 74 repu 20 min left 1 hour away. So I call the Dude and a deal is struck. Bought sight unseen, (pics) but I will finnally see it tomorrow, pay the cash and hoppfully get it home maybe sunday.

I got the bug bad Baby! anyway just saying Hi, like the site/forum, seems like lots of good advice, dude is trying to sell me a 12a motor, figure I'll hold off until I know more about the right/best motor, turbo fuel injection kinda of turns me on!

Cheers,
Gordon

Welcome, and congrat's...!

I haven't been checking out Ebay of late, so I didn't get to see the pics... but a 13B is what belongs under the hood, not a 12A... if at all possible.

What's 'best' for you all depends on the amount of time, money and effort you're willing to expend... and how original vs. modified a REPU you wanna end up with. (And, what shape the one you're getting is in...)

Lotsa helpful info on these boards, indeed --check out the older threads, as well--.

Best wishes for your new obsession!

Sorry dudes can't seem to get the pics to work, tried to edit using to the photo gallery but its not working so if you want to have a look go there, in the meantime.............

I've scored a 13B REW motor for the beast. Now I just got to; trial fit the motor and mod as required, decide on the rear end, figure the ride hight, strip the whole thing to the frame, fix the body rust, blast and coat the frame, collect all the replacement OEM parts, puchase aftermarket parts, find and buy used parts, refinish all the little bits and pieces, paint the body, reasemble the frame, fit the motor, mount the cab, plumb the after-cooler, refit the gas/ hyd lines, plumb the exhaust, fit new rad and oilcooler, rewire, upholster the cab.......etc.......

DAMIT WHAT THE HELL HAVE I GOT MYSELF INTO!

Wow this site is slow, guess there's not to many interested Repu owners out there? Anyway the good news is that I've managed to get the beast across the US border into Canada on Friday, only cost me $24can in taxes, thats including 2 12a motors that I have no idea what I'm going to do with. but what the hell I needed a motor mount, and a new clock for the shop. One of the motors has been sitting out in the rain and is most likely a pile of shit I'll use that one as scrap/something to play with, the other one may be salvagable or as something to flog.

Really stoked on the new project so far, some parts of it are in better shape than I thought and others..... well I new it wasn't going to be pretty. still waiting for the delivery of the MOTOR, should arive next week and next weekend, fist trial fit!!!!!!!!!!!!

Slow site? No idea...

...but, I do know I have less and less time for 'extra' distractions.

Can't see any pics, because all I see is a broken link/pic, and no web address...?

Please, feel free to post at the MSN-site (detailed in my 'sig. line', below--), if it's any help at all!

So i have the motor now, and I've just scored a grill off gaybay, grill's not in all that good shape but considering it only went for 40 bucks I'm not complaining. anyway motor instll has been delayed till Thursday night. Either going to have a grin from ear to ear or I'll be crying in my beer......

But dam it I'm going to make that thing fit if its the last thing I do.

And Howdi Shep, yes nice to see a fellow Canuck... maybe we could have are own rally, let see you drive west for a day and a half and I'll drive east for a day and a half, and just so long as neither of us sleep we should meet up somewhere aroung Winterpeg...... :)

IT FITS

So there it is 3rd gen twin turbo power! every one at my end of the world thinks I'm absolutly nuts. by the time this thing is done it'll be pummping out close to 300hp, I guess there right after all.

Motor is just sitting on wood blocks right now, it should drop and move back about 2 inches. Over the next couple of weeks I'll be moding the trans cross member and fabing new motor mounts, thinking that I'll utilize the existing 13B REW mounts and weld to the frame new mounts brackets, maybe with a new motor cross member but we'll see about that.
