I for one would have rather seen you keep it bone stock,or sell it to someone who would have done the same, but it's too late now,and it is your truck. There are so few of these trucks in original unmolested shape that it would have been worth a whole lot more that way even with the autotragic transmission. I guess another one bites the dust.I hope you held on to all the factory original stuff, and did the mods in a way you could go back to factory if you wanted, but I doubt this is the case.

It sounds like you have a sweet ride there, but I liked it better the way it was when you bought it,but then again I am a traditionalist.

Hey Micah, You definately scored on a rare piece of REPU history there. Was a great original example of an oem repu. Bottom line is, its your truck. I think all of your mods were tastefully done. Looks totally Bitchen! Everyone look at the bright side. The previous owner could have let it go to some knuckle head that would have beat to hell or used it as a work truck. You can clearly see that Micah is going to take care of that baby. Thats my 2 cents. Oh ya, you might want to find a shorter lower radiator hose.

I would've given you one of my two '74 REPU's for free, for you to modify as you wish, just so that you could've kept yours in all original condition.

My head 'exploded'...

...a looooong time ago. (No brain, no pain, right? ;))

Sad, in a way, for perhaps the cleanest/lowest miles *ever* stock original remaining on the face of our planet to go beyond the point of return -- But: It *is* a hot-rod REPU, and you've gotta love that. Goes without saying I would've spent the same opportunity a bit different; same is probably true for each of us...?

As for me, I just hope you manage to steer clear of any 'incidents', Micah -- keep the rubber side down, as it were, and keep your historical rod pristine! These old trucks don't exactly have current-century braking capabilities, and there are numerous suspension mods (see Brad Page about these) your REPU would no doubt benefit from as well. To say nothing of the stock rearend gearing, vs. what you'll really need to take full advantage of your Bridgeport, once broken in... nevermind a limited slip.

How many coats of wax were lovingly applied to the underhood, while the engine, etc., was out? You get my drift...: Please, preserve what you've got there -- no matter how you mod it!

Some observations: You'll want the dual-belt setup, as well as the underdrive pulley, to avoid water pump cavitation at the hi RPM's you'll no doubt be turning with that motor...
...and it's time to fab up a 'for real' heatshield between your header and that intake. You'll probably want to replace your fan with an electric one, or two... The escalade rims actually seem to be working pretty well, judging from the pics; before I saw 'em, I thought for sure they'd suck, big time. I predict those two (magnaflows, are they?) mufflers side-by-side under the back'll last about 4000 miles before you've blown them out -- provided they don't melt a patch of your spare even sooner. (That's not a proper, early, stock Bridgestone tire on there, is it?)

More sacrilege: What parts are you looking to sell, (provided you're not keeping 'em all, like we wish you would)?

Keep having fun...

I have two magnaflows before those racing beats in the rear. no worries guys, never gonna sell it, just be made faser and put in this way, i have a deville with a $6000 in new paint and even that stays outside while the repu stays in the garage.
