FD Alternator Mounting
I test fit my FD alternator this weekend. It appears that the tension bracket is going to need to be moved toward the front of the truck a bit. I can shim it out with some washers, but I was wondering if a tension bracket off of something else such as an FC or FB would fit perfectly.

Are you running serpentine belt. If so, then how did you do it?

Nope. No serpentine. If I did that, I'd have to use a 3rd P/S A/C bracket, requiring a TV14C compressor, which is a rather uncommon design in the world of compressors.

What is a tension bracket?
I mounted my FD alternator by shimming it fore/aft using washers to get proper alignment with the belts.

The bracket with the curved slot in it that sticks up and bolts to the ear on the alternator that allows you to pull the alternator up and tension the belt.
So you had to use washers on both sides of the alternator to get it right? Damn. I was hoping I could just trim the spacer I have.

I put washers on the AFT side of mine to move it forward to line it up correctly.
