One of the very nicest...
...remaining! Are there even a half-dozen still on the road that could compare? OK, a dozen maybe, tops!

I always wonder about that Klaus. I wonder how many have been stored and have yet to see daylight, if any that would be in good condition, then I also wonder just in general how many are left.. How many were even made to begin with..?

15,000+ some ever made...
Is it reasonable to assume maybe 150 still streetable? Maybe a couple'a thousand still around, in some fashion or another, at least as parts... ???

I'd say several hundred streetable, that is to say the cops don't pull you over seeing you drive down the street. Ones in that condition or better? I'd say 50-100. Its easy to forget that as popular as the internet is, it doesn't represent the majority of the general population as witnessed by the new REPU-owners we get in here almost every week.
What *I* like seeing is an INCREASE in the number of new/restored REPUs. I'm sure I'll want another once I'm done with my '77. Craig's is just about showroom, which is totally cool. I don't think I'll ever go that far though, likely it will be mostly visually stock with convenience items added as inconspicously as possible. Still it would be nice to have that "as original" truck in the driveway for shows while still being able to drive the other every day, or use it to tow the show truck, etc.

I plan on going full custom on my truck.. First by means of getting the engine and suspension all worked out to where the truck will be fast and handle great, then maybe some body mods here and there.. but nothing to hide the original splendor of the shape and design of the truck... Of couse this would involve lots of $$$$ which I do not have so it will be a slow process..

Wow 8 years, thats a long time to collect parts. I think I bought a motor from you a few years ago. I seem to remember a truck in your garage when I picked up that motor. Small world if your the guy that sold me that motor.

Yeah I used to live there, relocated to Idaho last year.
Cost of living was killing me.
