Why do we join

Greetings Members, well the reason I joined was to make contact with people who have an interest in REPU's and rotary's like I do.
I have posted twice in "parts wanted" looking for indicator/park lens and to the few who have made a reply I thank you, but what I need is a r/h front indicator/park lens and out of 233 current members some of which have REPU's to wreck or for parts they say, no one has actually replied with yes I have one or could get one and could post it and this is how much it is.
Am I to beleive there is no such thing or do people just keep these parts for them selves?
Why did you join??

TONY

Some of us

are coming to appreciate the rarity and value of what 'junk' we have accumulated, as spares. Then there's the sorting, cleaning, deciding what goes on which truck, and cutting loose of even the idea of saving one that could be for parts, while it's still relatively complete, as a builder instead... Putting something rare up for sale at a 'fair' price is getting more involved daily. Many of us do try to be as generous and helpful as we can... but some parts will take patience, dedication, and fortitude to find... perhaps you will be seeking parts trucks of your own? (If I could spare a lens, I would've offered it to you.) Are you in the market for a somewhat-complete 'parts' REPU? (Do let me know.) Best of luck in your search!

i joined to meet repu owners

and share information. i have bought some rare repu parts from fellow mazdarepu.com members including a VERY rare part. It's hit or miss really. Very few parts are available new so you gotta understand how we want to hold onto what we got. I just bought a repu Oct 2002 and am already seeing the value of stocking up on repu parts while the gettin is good!

And you can still buy repu orange front turn signal lenses BRAND NEW at your FORD dealer, tell them it's a 74-77 courier and fork out $84 EACH special order.

Well, I joined because I had one of these trucks and wanted to see if it was gonna be worth keeping.. HELL YES IT IS... Now as far as the parts you need go I have Extra bumper lenses and park light lenses.. I usually get them at the junkyard from a b1600 or courier, so if you still need them, e-mail me..

Now you're talkin'!

Forget paying $84.00 to a dealer for an $8.40 part! (Better to research the 'obsolete' Ford parts houses for a better deal...) Best yet: Junkyard scores. Do I hear $5.00?
I still need plenty of parts myself... not to mention time and money to get 'em and do something with 'em...

I make it a habit now to check the junk yards for truck parts whenever I go, even if I am hunting for something else.. So anyways.. I usually find a courier of 2 and most of the time there are a pair of good lenses.. Too bad I still have not found the front bumper in good shape..

Anyways. if you still have the need for those feel free to e-mail me @ ortezf@excite.com

Hi Klaus,

Can you supply a website or phone number for obsolete ford parts?

The couriers I see at the junkyard are pretty beat up or picked over.

My best ideas:

Personally, I've not found the time to pursue this, but... a few years back I bought some parts from a certain 'Green's Sales Co.'...think they were in Michigan... there was another one, but I forget...
If I had the time, I'd do an exhaustive meta-search on the 'net, as well as contacting as many Ford parts managers as needed to compile a list of their best recommendations, and go from there. Let me know what you find! Best, K.
