Is it just me, or.........
Are you guys stacking up REPU parts, even when you know in your heart the part is shot or unworthy of practical use.
I have dented bumper pieces, hole drilled dash assemblies, cracked dash covers, dented and distorted tailgates, cut wiring harnesses, tranny mounts, four transmissions, welded stick shifts, etc. I can't seem to throw them away, even though I know I probably won't use the stuff, at least not if I can help it.
I just can't seem to toss it. What is the deal. I have convinced myself that since I can never buy new ones, I think maybe evey assembly has some sort of "value".
Is this some sort of illness? Anyone else have the same problem? Is there a way out? My wife seems to think I am nuts....

Obsession - a persistent disturbing preoccupation with an often unreasonable idea or feeling.
Join the Club I think most of us have some sort of "Bone Yard" of somewhat questionable parts. The problem is that as soon as you start to clear out those parts you need one of them.

I have 4 rear brake cylinders, that "may" be rebuildable, and 2 front brake disks that are definately not. I also have all the emmisions equipment bagged up, not that there is much chance that anyone will want it. everything else i have actually does have some value.

You are not alone!
I, too, suffer from this affliction...in every aspect of my life! I never throw anything away...or try not to, anyhow. I have a ton of 'trash' parts. Until replacements become available, though,(ha!), it's the only way! After all, reduce and re-use are the first two parts of the recycling mantra...

good stuff
Dented bumper pieces can be repaired and rechromed, holes in dash panels can be filled, dash pads can be recovered, lots of parts can be brought back to life with some tlc. Think twice before tossing anything out.
