seat belts
Is it just me or are the seat belts in these trucks ridiculously short?I know I am a big guy but damn these things are even shrot for my father in law who is only 5 feet tall and ver slim.Is there a fix, like maybe seat belts from a newer truck?I just drove mine for the first time last night, and it was good aside from the belts, running out of gas,the front left caliper is sticking bad,and some wierd harley davidson noises from the engine only under moderate acceleration. What could the H-D noise be from?It seemed to cruise fine and after accelerating a bit the noise got better.I also still seem to be having idling problems.Any help would be appreciated. The truck is a 74 with a fresh rebuilt ported 13B and the stock carb, and a 1980 Rx-7 style ignition system. Thanks in advance.

Seat Belts
I'm using 1980 Ford courier seat belts. They are retractable lap and shoulder belts. They are more than long enough for me.
I'm 3x.

Please define "H-D" noise...
Missing? Running on one rotor only? Exhaust leak? Backfiring? Cross-triggering ignition? Vacuum leak?
Could you be more specific about that sound?

Hey Klaus it seems like a miss that seems to clear up with more speed. It does in fact sound like it is running on one rotor at the time of the noise.but i does clear up.Does that help at all.

Possibilities...
Poor connection to/from igniter; Cross-triggering ignition (you are running the 'remote' igniter version, not the 'on the dizzy' igniters, aren't you? These were prone to this problem...); Improper Timing; Fouled or broken plug; Bad plug wire; Firing on trailing only; Fuel-delivery issue, for example perhaps a piece of dirt in a jet?; etc. ...
My most recent experience of this type of phenomenon turned out to be poor electrical connectivity at the igniters... had to tweak the connectors with my needlenose. That was that! Hope this helps...
