Windshield Wiper Troubleshooting
Getting ready for rain here.
Bought our 77 REPU w/ the Windshield wipers not working. Trying to get fixed before rain starts. Got a spare wiper motor from a repu at the junkyard several months ago. Plugged it in, doesn't work, may be the motor or a bad fuse, any suggestions? I can't seem to find where the fuse would be for the wiper motor to check if it's been blown. Checked underneath dash, engine firewall, owner's manual.......still no sign of it. Any suggestions to get these windshield wipers working again?
Expecting Rain,

My guess is it is the Combo switch....
You know, the turn signal, high beams, wiper switch that is mounted on the steering column. They are notorious for failing. Lots of small parts, but they can be cleaned and regreased.
Watch for small balls and springs. Take your time and keep an eye out for very little parts with a tendancy to leap.
That is my guess for teh culprit.

Wiper Troubles
Check the relay under the dash on the kick panel, drivers side. That is what was the matter with mine when they wouldn't work. Had new motor and couldn't get it to work either. Good luck. Charles

If you do need to restore connectivity
in the stalk, or elsewhere: Caig-Cramoline DeOxIt is your bestest pal! Just a teeny, tiny dab'll do it... spendy stuff from the electronics supply speciality store.
