Juan is alive..........

......I talked to Juan yesterday at sevenstock. He said that his vender went out of business and he has a new one lined up and the website should be back up in about two weeks. He also said the that he is using a new very high quality vinyl now compared to his earlier stuff. I told him I'm in for a full kit asap.

Sounds like it's the set for you...

...since you wanted it in blue? (I don't need it in blue.)

1.) That pic shows next to nothing.
2.) How about posting HERE, Juan --on the thread you started, amongst your prime customer base-- to let us know the details/give us the 'heads up', straight from the source???
3.) How does the BIN pricing break down to any kind of 'deal' for us, here?
4.) Do we get to choose matching color stripes and lettering?
5.) Was there a second style of stripe to choose from? None of my REPU's had the style of stripe on ebay originally...(?!)
6.) How about including the underhood decals & plate?

Thanks, Klaus

What color is best for a "lawn" green 74 REPU?The white rotary power kit,or did they use black or some other color?I want to get a tailgate set for when I restore the truck but I ma not sure of what color I should get because th etruck was without the tailgate decals when I got a few years ago.Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

:Edit: What is the color code for my truck there is no sticker on it anymore? There are pics of it in the misc section of the gallery. It is the 6th through 8th pics I think. Also the VRD website lists paint codes up to 78,but I don't see the YU code I have on my 5/78 RX-7 that I just got which is Spark yellow.Does he only do up to 78 in the other models, not including the RX-7?

Chris

Sorry, can't help you on the paint codes. But I am interested in the 83 Limited that you have listed as parting out soon. I am looking for a set of the 14 in wheels for one. Let me know if you are interested in selling and how much you want. Thanks, Charles

Well, if there's no 'deal'...

...for us here --and we're not worthy of a reply on the thread he initiated-- then I guess there's no hurry, right?

After checking his new website, as well as Ebay...

...I must say that the site looks awesome! Obviously, Juan's been busy... perhaps the thing to do is for us to contact him directly...? Check www.vintagerotarydecals.com for contact info.

The site looks the same as I remember it being before it went down, I could be wrong. Its not as though he's designing it himself so I don't think its hte site that's occupying so much of his time. In any event, I get the feeling that phone is probably a better mode of contact for Juan than email/forums.

I'm in contact with Juan currently via email...we are trying to work out the details of payment and possibly a "code" so that he can be sure the person ordering is a forum member...I proposed a code so we can order and pay on our own and accumulate the groups of three we need in order to get the "forum Discount".

Stay tuned...

More to come...

I actually have the set that is on the car which are in ok shape, and a set unmounted that are in great shape.I have yet to make up my mind as far as which way I will go with my new found early production 79.It is all stock now even down to factory tires, but I may use the LE wheels so I can go with the 14" tires.I will be stripping the car soon(within a few weeks),and what ever I don't use will be up for grabs.I even have a rear louver, and a factory bra from my new addition I may sell.Let me know if you are interested in any other parts.

Well, Iwasted a good part of the day emailing back and forth with him...it looks as though he reaal dose not want to honor the forum discount...you all have to order together, pay together and have them shipped to one address...as though we all live together ans as if someone wants to pay and trust the otheres to re- pay them and then ship them to the others addresses on their dime...

I tried to get him to agree to the a more feasable plan with garanees for him...e.g. if one of the three would fail to send him their money within an alotted time, he could charge the full ebay price to the other two so he would not loose out.

he would not budge...I quit!!!

I paid full price for mine on ebay just now...and I'm affraid that's the way it will go for all.

I guess his lack of responces here for the past months should have been taken as a sign...I will say this though, I will not do business with him after this transaction...and I will stop recomending him to my friends!!

So sorry to hear...

...must mean there's enough demand/not enough profit$ otherwise for him to need to care...? Oh well.

I'm not all that bothered at the prospect of paying full price myself, just so long as he stays in business and the stuff remains available.

Something I found out with various projects that have been discussed on the board here like new light gaskets, polyurethane suspension bushings, etc . . . no one wants to pay anything like a fair price. Fair price being something that at least comes CLOSE to covering costs of materials alone. That's not even getting into the time investment for doing small quanitity custom stuff.

As much as I dearly love the group here we have a few low-ballers that make these sorts of things harder to accomplish.

LOL, I wasn't necessarily referring to you Klaus :p

A hundred bucks was a good price for that piece no matter what anyone says. I should have bought more than one myself.

Just saying that in general people talk about wanting custom this and custom that, but they want Walmart-bought-by-the-billions prices.

No one here is looking to make bank on a project, but when you can't get someone to even cough up what it costs for materials alone there's just no incentive at all.

That's why I don't mind that Juan is charging a decent amount. If he charges too much his business will also suffer from lack of customers, so it'll probably level out and take care of itself.

Decals

Ok, I'm finally ready to by some side striping for the REPU project. Juan hasn't answered my emails, so....do I keep trying him, or contact the new guy offering to make them? Anyone with recent experience?
