Can you swap body and/or beds...
Can a 74/75 body or bed fit a 76/77 frame and/or Can a 76/77 cab or bed fit a 74/75 frame? I know the 76/77's came with an extra 4" or so in the cab, but where did those inches go?
If I wanted to put a 74 body on a 77 frame, would I have a 4" gap?
Just asking before I go lay on cold ground and measure wet trucks. Maybe someone can save me from a soggy bottom.

Just a guess...
Judging by the changes in part #'s to various parts, such as the driveshaft, the '77 has a longer frame, as well as cab... '74-'76 oughta be mostly identical--but I've heard it said that various changes happened along the way, so many examples have 'individual' differences...part #'s seem to support this 'ongoing' development of the REPU...

Measure
Don't know the exacts but I do know that my 84 B2000 cab fit and bolted to the frame tabs except for the very front ones. The length is from the A-frames forward. I just cut them off and welded them to the front of the frame. Then when I decided to make it back into a 74 I cut them off and moved them back to the side of the frame. Of course this is not an original 74. Its a hybrid 74/84 frame that is going to be a 74 with a long flatbed. A work truck. Good luck. I have a 74 frame out back that I could measure if you need some distances. Let me know, crgj@comcast.net
