Pineapple Racing front Valence Group Buy

I talked with Rob Golden from Pineapple over a beer Friday night before SevenStock, and he says he has a NOS valance he'd be willing to have a mold taken from. He thinks he can then get the part done in either Fiberglass, or Urathane.

I'd like to get ANOTHER quick count on who'd be interested in getting this part. I'll call Rob back on Friday, with the number.

I'll Start: I want 2

UPDATE Please call Rob at 503 233 3878 To let him know that you want a Valance. They are almost ready as of 12/22/2003!!

I have a perfectly straight one on my 74 but would still be interested in a urethane/fiberglass one if they were available at that price.

If it's the s__t,...

...and I can pay with my credit card, I'll take at least two, if not three. I'd want to see the results in Urethane first, though... don't need it to be too flabby!
Depends on price point as well, of course... but an excellent repro gets bought in bulk!

Mine may be able to be worked back into a decent shape.. but would be easier to replace.. I would take two if the price is right... but one for sure..

count me in for 2

So I'll have a backup. Estimated cost?

I'd prefer urethane since it takes curbs better but at this point anything straight would be appreciated. Fiberglass cracks and splits when kinetic energy is applied, been there done that with a Pacific front airdam on the rx7.

Rob is de bomb. He built the motor in my blue rx7 by the way and the craftsmanship is top notch. The bridge ports are works of art!!!

Did he say anything else about his other potential REPU projects?

When, when when?

When will they be ready? I am getting my REPU painted in a couple weeks and can REALLY use a new valance. Should I just call Rob and ask?

Yes!

Yes, Call Rob and ask. The more people he knows are looking for it, maybe the faster it'll get done.

Er... maybe we should just email him. If he gets 30 phone calls while he's at work I wouldn't blame him if he got pissed :)

At the Glass Guy!

Rob called to let me know the glass guy is in the process of making the mold!!

Here are my notes from the phone call:

They can reproduce it to 'look' 100% stock.

There is a lip on each end of the valance that they can't reproduce as the lip, but it will be "built up"... ie thicker glass/more layers on the end to simulate the lip.

It is a medium-hard peice to reporduce, but they think they will get a first run of 20 done.

Rob's going to call me next week, when he'll know more about the price. Then it's just a matter of getting them done, packaged and sent out!
