Help! hinge pin
Need a hinge pin! Mine rattled out and lost it. Does anyony have a parts truck that I could get a hinge pin from? The part is the actual pin, not the hinge plates. The pin is 2 3/4" (70 mm) long and 1/4" (6 mm) diameter. On one end are slight ridges that extend down the length of the pin 1/4" (6 mm) and it is these ridges that keep the pin from fallng out. The pin goes through one hinge plate that is mounted on the hood and another hinge plate that is attached to the front engine compartment cross piece that the radiator also is bolted onto. The pin is what holds the hinge together and is the pivot. Thanks for the help.

still looking
I've been looking in the yards for a replacement hinge pin, but so far no luck. Besides an repu and possibly a Mazda B1600, does anyone know another vehicle that might have a similar hinge pin? B2200 and up are different, as are RX7s. I am getting tired of my hood rattling and need to replace this pin. Does anyone have a parts truck that I could get a pin from? Thanks.

I bet you can make one with metal 1/4" dowel. Bet Home Depot sells metal dowels, if not my Ace Hardware does. You can even bend, solder, weld, or knurl the ends so it won't fall out.
