* * * LSD kit available * * *

It is finally possible to have a limited slip differential for your REPU. A 3rd gen Rx7 Torque Sensing limited slip aka Torsen can be made to work in your REPU. What you will need:

1. The two spacers and longer bolts for sale as a kit
2. A Torsen from any 3rd gen Rx7 that you supply
3. Grind two notches in REPU axle housing flange
4. Any REPU gears and stock REPU pumpkin housing

The two spacers and longer bolts can be purchased directly from Rex Armour, machinist. $200.00 shipped to upper 48 states. Contact him directly @ fuzzyeyed@yahoo.com for payment instructions.

The large spacer with holes drilled in it goes between the ring gear and Torsen, allowing proper setting of carrier spread. Longer bolts supplied to compensate for spacer. The small cylindrical spacer replaces the thrust block from open diff, and goes inside the Torsen for both axles to butt up against. Since the entire rear end must be dissassembled, it is critical to set pinion depth, carrier bearing preload, tooth pattern and axle end play back to factory specs.

Grind notch in axle housing so bolt heads can clear.

I've had this installed in my REPU for a month and the truck really puts the power to the ground. Accelerates slightly quicker (no lost traction), handles much better as it no longer understeers on corner exit like an open diff. It's easy to point the truck thru a turn.

Any questions you can contact Brad Page directly via email. To purchase contact Rex Armour, machinist directly @ fuzzyeyed@yahoo.com for payment instructions.

I'm willing to take a gamble and try it out on a TII rear end since I have access to one.

Hmmm... I am parting out the yellow REPU as well. I see a trade in our future. HAHA! I'll PM you on the evil forum. I have a ton of people who want parts from that truck too (been slow to reply)but now I'm in the middle of a remodel that must be done by June 15th so we can move. I can't get a break!

I'd buy that for a dollar!

parting out

If you have a good, unrusted, in-the-bed fuel vapor canister and companion cover , I would be interested. Along with a decent drivers side bumper parking light lens to repace cracked one I have.
Need not be perfect, just not cracked.
TIA, Bob C

I have... and am actively looking for a FD rear end locally.

I may have to pick it up in the SF Bay area later this month, as there aren't that many junked FD's around here.

Great truck. And if you want front coilovers for your truck I do sell that. Search for the thread on this site for pics and price.

Oh, and CalTracs work great in a straight line but screw up cornering. They load up one spring, not the other when cornering.

WELCOME TO THE REPU FAMILY!!!

Here's an article on other limited slip types

http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/articles/whats-diff/

Makes for a good read. OS GIKEN is the hot ticket for autocross but rather pricey. TORSEN holds it's own against the KAAZ 1.5 way, and better on transitions on/off throttle.

lsd

I was able to find a torsen out of a 95 rx7. A think I paid a little more than you guys, but they are not that easy to find around here. Plus the results are what count.

RX-8 LSD

I heard somewhere that the rx8 lsd is the same as the 3gen. The only reason I bring this up is I found an rx8 lsd for $100, I bought it thinking that I could get the money back regardless of whether it works or not. Dose anyone knows if this is true?

Same here. If he's no longer interested, can someone share the spacer dimensions with us?
