Diff side bearings for the Torsen. Pinion bearings from the REPU.

I just swapped out my Torsen diff for a 2 way in my 93 RX7. The diff has 64k on it and worked great when removed. If anyone is interested, send me a PM or email.

Thanks,
Scott

It took a while, but I've gotten a hold of Rex, and he's a very helpful, nice guy. It happens that he's backed up at work, but making plans for another small batch LSD kits in the next few weeks. If you want to limit your wait, shoot him an email soon to get in on this upcoming batch.

I've got mine built and installed and ran into a few hiccups.

1.) A FC clutch-type TII diff won't work, even though they're frequently presented as "interchangeable" with FD and RX-8 diffs.

2.) The REPU ring gear is held in with M10 screws. The FD and RX-8 diffs have thru-holes for 8mm hardware, so the carrier has to be drilled.

3.) The height of the heads of the ring gear screws not only mean you have to notch the axle housing, but you also have to run the diff slightly off-center for the bigger heads to clear the carrier bearing caps. If you want to run the carrier centered in the diff, you'll want to thin the spacer down. This would allow you to run the bearing adjusters roughly the same side-to-side, and split the axle shims equally left-right.

4.) If you decide to run the original-thickness spacer, you'll probably find that the carrier will have to run off center, which isn't necessarily bad. You'll have one adjuster run in, the other run out. To compensate, you'll want to approximate the offset and run more shims under the axle retainers on passenger's side.

Or if any one has one they are not using I will buy it face value or give you $130 and a FD Torsen as payment.

Wow, did not know that. If that's the case I wonder if someone would post up measurements or a cad drawing of the two spacers? Thank you for the heads up, I have been waiting to change out my very bad pinion bearings till I had the kit, guess I will take it to a local machinist.

Thank you for the quick reply,
Kevin

Rex did a run of these in 2012. I emailed him to see if he's still making this kit.

Waiting to hear as well...

Brad,

I'm going to want in on the next run, too, if you find out he is still making them. I'll wait to email him directly until you post up one way or the other, since it appears he doesn't readily get back to people he doesn't already know... ?

Hi Neal,

I haven't heard back from Rex who was making them. If you or anyone else want to email him, go for it. I think since there still is interest in these kits we should consider an alternative machinist.

Well...

I have a machinist local to me who is great. I've known the guy for almost fifteen years, see him fairly regularly, and he has done a bunch of work for me. Most recently he made me some custom special tools.

He can load a program into his CNC machine if you or one of the guys can get me CAD drawings or loan me the parts to be copied. I could let him copy them and then ship them back to you or whomever.

Neal.

I just bought a Ford 8.8 for my truck so I'll be selling my whole REPU axle with the kit already installed soon. Just throwing it out there in case someone wants dibs.
